Deepesh would like to teach a class in Hindi

I want to teach a Hindi class because I want others to be able to speak Hindi like I do. Vanessa told me I can teach a Hindi class. Hindi is an easy language to learn. It's a good language. Then you can go to any Indian and speak Hindi. I have spoken Hindi all my life.

Brendan likes music because it makes him happy when he's singing

I like music because it makes me happy when I'm singing. And I like art because it's fun and I love making collages. I love animals and birds. I like theater productions. I like to perform with Lori Benson, she is nice and I love her. She is my closest friend of all time. I like going out into the community. Lori Benson takes us out into the community. I love activities.

Veronica got 3 new outfits and new perfume for Christmas

My mom got me 3 new outfits for Christmas, and my sister got me new perfume. We had Christmas at my sisters house, I ate rice and we opened presents. I got a red 20 dollar gift card that I went shopping with. I bought a shirt and shoes with it. I felt very good about this Christmas.

Jamel was disappointed he didn't get the gift he wanted most for Christmas

I got an Elite UFC shirt and a pair of pants for Christmas. But I didn't get my microphone yet. It has a long chord and a stand. I was disappointed that I didn't get it. I was going to use my microphone to announce. My grandma said I have to wait till next Monday to get it. Waiting is hard, you gotta have patience.

Erin got a new phone for Christmas

I got a new phone for Christmas. I got a Samsung with 4G speed. It's like a computer and a phone. You can check your internet, you can go to Youtube, or send emails. It even has GPS on it. You can also play games on it. My mom got it for me in Cape Cod. I love it so much.

Being at the Cobblestone has helped a Cobblestone student through socially hindering aspects of her disability

I have been a part of Cobblestone Arts Center since 2008. At first,I was nervous, but everyone was very welcoming and made me feel accepted. There are a mix of different people who come here. So it is not limited to certain type of person. The main focus is everyone focusing on having fun. It also helped me find a place where I could be myself and learn things at my own pace. The staff here is also accepting and knowledgeable. When i was a teenager I was diagnosed with aspergers syndrome,which is high functioning autism that hinders social skills. So growing up I was alone a lot. When I started here I was nervous about being alone again but I did end up finding talents I didn't know I had and I met a lot of people with similar interests. I enjoy public speaking, music, art, computers and horticulture in the years i spent here.

Veronica is getting a new outfit to wear on Christmas

I'm going to Christmas at my sisters house. My mom is taking me shopping for clothes to wear on Christmas. My mom is going to buy me new pants and a shirt. My sister is going to cook for us. She is going to cook lasagna and rice. We are going to have pop, chips, and cold cuts also. I am going to call my dad on Christmas. He is sending me 20 dollars. I am excited for Christmas.

Laurie is excited about the brand new floor being put in her room

I was told by my group home that I'm going to get a brand new bedroom floor. I was told that it was the oldest floor in the house and it needed to be replaced. I'm excited about it. I haven't decided if I want carpet or fake wood yet. I'm going to have to move everything out of my room when they put in the floor. They will probably do it while I'm at the Cobblestone so one day I'll come home to a brand new floor! I'm excited about the brand new floor.

Tracie love's her group home

I really like my group home because they are nice and very friendly. They have an exercise bike there and a flat screen TV. We do fun activities like going out to eat or going to the mall and going to the planetarium. I'm luck to be in such a great group home.

Joann is hoping for a flat screen TV and a digital camera for Christmas

I am going to be spending the night at my mom's for Christmas. I'll be there Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. We are going to have good food on Christmas Eve, we are going to have pizza and wings. On Christmas Eve we exchange gifts to each other. On Christmas morning we open all our gifts from my mom. For Christmas dinner we have a meat tray with cold cuts. My mom is cooking macaroni salad and my sister is making potato salad. I hope I am getting a flat screen TV for Christmas, and hopefully a digital camera. I want to wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Shirley is crocheting a blanket for her friends baby

I have been working on my crocheting. I am making a blanket for my friends baby. It's going to be a big size blanket with all different colors in it like purple, orange, green and red. On Christmas I will be going to my sister Merlin's house for the day with Jeffrey my nephew. We are going to be eating ham and watching a movie and maybe some crocheting. I love Christmas time.

Brendan loves singing Journey songs in Music class

I am doing great and I'm happy because I love it here. I make friends here and it makes me happy to be with them. I have fun with them all day long. I love eating lunch with them, and I enjoy life. I have fun with Nate in music, where we get to sing Christmas songs. And of course Journey. I love being here

Erin is looking forward to working at her new job in Cape Cod

After I move to Cape Cod I will be getting a new a job. I'll be cooking and gardening. I'm really looking forward to it. I'll be making flyers advertising for beach activities also. I'll be sad to leave the Cobblestone, and of course I'll come back and visit, but I'm looking forward to living in my new hometown and working at my new job.

Cobblestone is Marie's home away from home

Today I woke up feeling very happy. I am so glad that I have so many good friends and family and teachers in my life. I try my best to stay positive and merry because life is too short to always be a cranky pants. Cobblestone is my home away from home.

Brendan is going to the Record Archive with his friend tomorrow.

When I get home today I'm going to go with my friend Patrick to the library and get some cool stuff. I'm going to have fun with him. On Wednesday me and Patrick are going to the record archive to look around, have fun, and maybe buy some CD's. I have a collection of CD's and have fun with it. I am having a fun day at cobblestone. It's great fun here. I am happy that I will have a great 2 days with my friend Patrick and at the cobblestone.

I love social networking. Facebook is my favorite thing to do. It helps me relax. It helps me to keep in touch with my friends. It keeps me updated with the news and I have a weather update on my page. I love seeing my blog posts show up on cobblestones Facebook, as well as my fellow students. Facebook is a good tool for socializing with my fellow students.

Laurie talked to a celebrity for her project in computer class

All of the computer students talked to a star on the radio talk show in computer class. All of the students had fun doing it. We all asked him all different kind of questions. Like what was his favorite music and a bunch of other questions. We all thought it was a neat thing to do. I personally myself thought it was awesome, and it felt pretty cool to talk to a star. I love doing projects in computer like the radio talk show.

Deepesh wants to get a job in the community

I applied for a job at Strong hospital. So far I've got no response. I want to get a job as soon as possible. I'm applying to Fairport, Perinton, and Victor libraries. I want to do book issues, where people check out and check in. I want to get a job in the community.

JoJo got an early Christmas gift in a touch screen computer

I put up my Christmas decorations on Sunday night. I put up Santa and his sleigh on my dining room table. I put stuffed animals of a reindeer and a snowman over my couch. My brother and my mother decided to give me my Christmas gifts early because it's to hard to hide from me. They gave me a touch screen computer. Now if I want to finger paint I could. When I get home from the cobblestone we are putting the tree up. I love Christmas.

Christine is welcomed back to the cobblestone after a lengthy surgery recovery time

I haven't been to the cobblestone since Thanksgiving because I had surgery. I've had a pacemaker since I was 19 and they had to put a new battery in it. They put me to sleep and after they did that they put in IV in my hand. I went home the next morning and they got me a nice teddy bear. I've been home resting ever since. I'm glad to be back at the cobblestone.

Mary Beth sponsors a missionary from India

Tonight I am going to a fundraiser at my church. We are doing a dinner to raise money. We are raising money for the missionaries. I sponsor a missionary over seas through Gospel of Asia. The person I sponsor is from India and she is a girl. I am going to the movies Saturday to see the muppets with my niece. Sunday I am going to a sports banquet for the Special Olympics. I have lot's to do this weekend.

Jamel is glad his sister is ok after going to the hospital

I'm glad my sister is ok even though she's at the hospital. My family went to see her last night in the hospital and I was worried. My grandmother said she was ok and that makes me feel better. My grandma said my sister will be back soon. I can't wait to see her.

Joe is interested in learning sign language

I am interested in learning sign language. I practice Wednesdays here at the cobblestone. I would like to get good enough to hold a conversation with someone in sign language. I am trying to learn Christmas carol's in sign language. My goal is to get everybody learning sign language. I love learning a new language.

Tracie get's lot's of benefits from her physical therapy

I like my physical therapy. It keeps me moving and active. It's interesting to me because they educate me on my muscles and how they work. They also educate me on the right foods to eat, stretching exercises I should at home and how often I should stretch. It makes me feel better about myself.

Eric is inspired by his music teacher Nate to become a good singer

I am becoming a singer. I want to be somebody famous. I'm focusing on my vocal warm up's on my own. I also practice with Nate and Helana in music class. I want to follow in Nate's footsteps in making CD's and writing songs. Nate is my mentor, he helps me sing and focus on what song I want to sing. He inspires me by having me sing solo's in music class to show me how good I can be. I love singing.

Joann is having lunch this weekend with a old friend

Me and my friend are going out to lunch on Saturday. I haven't seen her in over 15 years. We are going to a nice restaurant. We might go to Chili's or Red Robin. I'm going to get a cheeseburger, fries, maybe onion rings, and a diet coke. We are going window shopping and catch up on what's been going on in our lives. Her daughter is coming with us too. And we are going to have a great time!

Stacy stays active by playing in a basketball league

I play in a basketball league. We play at St John Fisher, Geneva and all over. So far this season we have won 1 and lost 1. I play forward, I block shots before they make the basket. I'm the ball handler. I bring the ball down the court and pass it to my teammates. Last game I made a 3 pointer and we won the game. I like to play basketball games.

Veronica has big plans for her birthday

My birthday is coming up soon. I'm getting a new dress and I'm getting a haircut and my nails done. I'm getting my hair colored. I'm going to get my hair colored blonde. I'm getting new perfume and makeup. My dad is getting me a coloring book. I'm going to watch tv and color. We are going to have chicken wings and pizza. I'm excited about my birthday

My weekend was good. Friday night I had dinner at home. I went to my uncles house Saturday night. We had dinner and then came back home. I went to church Sunday afternoon. We sang songs in church and did some prayers. Then we had dinner at church. We had Indian food. We had curry and rice. It was good. We might go to India in February or March, I'm not sure. I'm looking forward to it. I had a good time last weekend.

I'm looking forward to going to my new house in Cape Cod. It's pretty cool, it's a mile from the ocean. When it's really clear you can see the ocean from my house. They have really good seafood. When I go there, I'm going to take pictures of my new house. I'm going there this week. Going there is great.

For Christmas I do arts and crafts for presents. All the arts and crafts I do I learn at the cobblestone and then I work on them at home. I give out potholders, hats, and gloves. I crochet these things for them. I also do baked goods for Christmas presents. I do bread, cookies and muffins. Christmas time is my favorite time of the year.

Matt is learning new things by social networking

I've been doing Facebook. I like it because I get to talk to friends.When I'm home and not in class I get to talk to my friends online. That's progress that I've made as my friends steer me in the right direction. I also learn more about current information. Facebook has been a good experience.

Deepesh took a trip to Canada last weekend to see family and friends

I went to Canada last weekend to see my family and friends. We ate pizza and a lot of food. We went to church on Sunday with the family. We came back home in the afternoon and unpacked and set the table for dinner. I enjoyed my trip to Canada.

I am going bowling tonight with friends. My friend challenged me to get 4 strikes in a row. I have this doubt I can get it because last time I tried it I started out with a spare. I'm trying not to doubt myself in this challenge. I'm very glad to go bowling tonight.

Joann ate great food and watched some football with her family on Thanksgiving

I had a great Thanksgiving. I saw my family, saw my mom, saw my brother and his girlfriend. I had good food, ate a lot of food there. We had turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and green bean salad. For desert we had apple pie, pumpkin pie and chocolate pie with whipped cream. We watched the football game and I was sad the Dolphins lost. I'll be seeing my family again at Christmas time!

I'm learning a new song. It's a song by Celine Dion called because you love me. The song talks about faith, your voice, and it also talks about strength. What I like about it is I have to pronounce every word and it makes me sing louder. I practice this song during music class.

Deepesh enjoys performing in front of an audience

We had a good time on the show yesterday. We wore our t-shirts that we made and performed in the show. We did singing with Vanessa and Sarah and we did Cat in the Hat with Kristin. My favorite part of the show was singing. We did good songs, everyone clapped their hands in the audience and we did a good job. I thought the show was good.

The Reasons Marie Enjoys Coming To Cobblestone

I love coming to Cobblestone Arts Center, because the people here treat me with respect, dignity, and care. I really enjoy art class, and public speaking. I enjoy art, because it lets me get my emotions out, in a very creative and artsy way. I enjoy computers, because I know so much about them, how they work, etc. I like how the teachers interact with the students in a creative way, especially in music class. So, coming to Cobblestone has been a really inspiring event in my life.

We are learning new things like the Seussical theme. We do computer's where I do blogs. I like the blog. There is no drama in this program. We respect each other like human beings.

Joann got to see family and friends this weekend at a wedding reception

I went to a wedding reception Friday night. My second cousins son got married. It was really nice and the bride looked really pretty. The food was really good. It was in a country club in Greece. I got to see my mom and my brother and my nieces. I got to see my sister and her husband. I really enjoyed the reception, I had fun.

I had a great time during my 4 day weekend. I went to my friends to have breakfast every day. And then we sat around and had coffee and watched movies. Then my friend made a big pot of chili. I sponsor a child from a different country her name is Gaden and she is from Honduras. One of the reasons I do this is because people from foreign countries are very poor and don't earn a lot of money. So they need people to sponsor them. It's Gadens birthday today and she is now 11 years old. The only 2 times a year you are allowed to give money is a birthday or Christmas present. I'm always excited to get one of her letters. It's always cool and different to get a letter from a different country. I show her all my love and care and all that she means to me. She always thanks me for all the stuff I do for her and her family. I love sponsoring children with all my heart.

Deepesh went on a boy scout camping trip last weekend

I had a good time camping last weekend with the boy scouts in Naples. On Friday night we ate from home and we had some chips and we had cookies. Second day we had chicken and squash and at night we had cherry pie for desert. On Sunday morning we had bacon, eggs, bread, juice, milk and cider. Then we packed up and went home. I love camping.

Deepesh would like to do volunteer work at a hospital

I would like to volunteer at a hospital talking to patients like giving them company or reading them stories and giving them advice, like a speech or something. I would need a coach to teach me how to deal with peoples issues. I would like to be trained how to serve them food and making their beds. I would like to make sure they are getting themselves ready in the morning by making sure they brush their teeth and hygiene stuff. I would do a good job helping people.

Veronica had a good time at the cobblestone Halloween party

I did my hair and makeup myself for the Halloween party. My sister put the dress on me, it was red and black and had a hood. I did some Spanish dancing to reggaeton at the party. I told my mom about it and she really liked that I had a good time. I called my dad after the party and he gave me $30. I love Halloween.

Mary Beth has a busy weekend ahead of her

I am going to a Marcus Whitman football game tonight. My dad is a score keeper for Marcus Whitman. I just go there to hear the music so I log the music for our radio broadcast. I am going to my nieces birthday party tomorrow. I am getting her a pillow pet for her birthday. She turned 13 Tuesday but we are having the party on Saturday. On Sunday my mom and myself are planning on taking my sister out for lunch. We are going to the new Chinese restaurant in Canandaigua called the Chinese Grill. I have a big weekend ahead of me.

Monday I have a Halloween party at the cobblestone. My mom is getting my nails done for the party. I am going to wear a long black and red dress. I am going to do my hair by myself and do my makeup by myself. My sister gave me big white shoes to wear. I'm going to have fun at the party.

The Halloween party at my group home is going to be wild. They play scary music and everyone dresses up and I'm going to make something gooey. There will be crazy ghost stories and crazy spooky games and there is going to be a volcano cake. We are going to put in a scary movie and sit around the tv with popcorn and watch the movie. I'm excited for the party.

Jamel is learning how to speak to audiences at the cobblestone

I'm learning how to speak clearly so people can understand every word that I am saying so that I can become a better speaker. To become a better speaker, I first have to learn to speak loudly and clearly and learn how to speak correctly to audiences. I must learn how to have a good attitude, like I am doing now. I am trying to have a good attitude by not yelling or getting upset. I'm learning how to better myself at the cobblestone.

Erin is adjusting to a new pair of glasses

I got new glasses, on the side I can't see people coming because I got wider glasses and the frames are blocking my sight. I like my glasses because they are cool, I like the design on them. When you go outside they change color and changes into sunglasses. And when you come back in they are still sunglasses for 20 minutes or so and then change back to regular glasses. I recommend these glasses, my mom has them too.

Laurie turns one of her dreams into a painting in art class

One night I had a dream that my cat was helping me build my house. She painted it all different colors such as red, green and blue. I decided to make it a painting in art class. I drew the house and painted it the colors my cat painted it in my dream. It took me 2 weeks or so to finish. It was one of the longest projects I ever did. Art class is when I get creative a lot, and I love doing the projects.

Marcus had a great birthday weekend

I had a lot of fun on my birthday. We went out bowling, and I got some new clothes and sneakers. I love having birthdays. Birthdays are a lot of fun. I just hung out with my friends and ate pizza and cake. I had fun hanging out with Lori, she took me and my classmates to the Olive Garden. I want to thank Lori for doing this for me, I had a lot of fun. This was a fun weekend for me

My niece has a birthday today. I'm going to get her flowers and call my dad. We are going to have a party outside. We are going to have pop, chips, chicken wings, ice cream, and chocolate cake. I am looking for a job opportunity in computing. I am thinking of getting a job near Fairport or Farmington. Maybe at Eastview mall or some where out in Victor. I am looking to get a job as a teachers aid at BOCES. Or maybe volunteer at a library in Fairport, Pittsford, or Victor. I am looking to do something in the community.

Christine is preparing for her big movie role

I'm going to be in a movie. I met the director Adrian last spring, that's when he interviewed me and he interviewed other people also. He chose me because he thought I would be good in the movie. They are supposed to come here and I'm going to do some kind of role today. And I think they are going to do that with me outside. I'm kind of nervous because I don't talk that much and I'm going to need help with that. I'm hoping I will be a movie star someday soon.

Mary Beth is going to a rock concert and will get to meet the band afterwards

My mom and I are going to a concert Wednesday. It's a group from California and they are old people. They play music from the 60's and 80's. Their pastor from California comes and sings with them. They are a very good group as I heard from people in my church. I am going to meet them afterwards and give my painting to them I made at home. It's going to be a fun day.

Deepesh is joining a new bowling league

In bowling you exercise your body. Bowling calms you down and you focus on bowling. I will start bowling October 16th on a Sunday morning. My coach will give us a speech every Sunday morning on how to bowl. Bowling is very fun for you because you meet a lot of people and the coaches are good for you. The coach tells you what league you are going to bowl in. I want to bowl in league one, but I'm not sure. We all have a good time bowling.

Jamel's dream of hosting a radio show will be fulfilled soon

I'm looking forward to doing the radio show in computer class. What makes me look forward to doing the radio show in computer class is I like presenting to an audience. My role is hosting because I'm pretty good at hosting and I can open the show to the audience and close out the show. I feel pretty good about it. It's my dream to host a radio show. I will be fulfilling that dream soon.

Shirley enjoyed her weekend of seeing her brother and sister's

Last Saturday my brother from Silver Springs, Maryland came to visit the family. It was a short visit because he had to go visit my other sister. And on Sunday he had to go to California because that's where he works at. He's coming back to Rochester to spend more time with his sisters and his family. He's going to hook up my computer for me so I can email. Sometimes I go to my sister Merlin's house for a cookout, but I can't wait till he comes back in December and spends more time with me.

My dad called me 3 times this weekend from Puerto Rico. I like talking to my dad. We talked about his football team and how my sister and brother had a kid. We talked about my niece and how my sister is having another baby. My sister has 2 babies now. I am an aunt to two babies now. I went shopping for a coloring book, it cost me 20$. I like to color with my niece. I had a good time this weekend.

Chris makes movies using stop motion animation techniques.

Hi, my name is Chris and I make movies. The 1st one I did is called Bell in a Burger. It starts with a camera and proper lighting. You gotta have good lights in a room. I do stop motion animation. It takes a while, its about 3 weeks. And you got to have a lot of patience. You got to build the props and scenery with art. It's very challenging work. And you can add noises and music or sound effects. I like to make movies because it's fun.

Sara had a productive week filled with job training and activities

Lori is going to help me get a daycare job. We have been touring sites and stuff like that. Last Tuesday we toured an antique center. I learned how to price things and what a cashier does, just by watching. I'm happy to have my time in the community. And with Lori Benson every Saturday I do ballet at best foot forward, her own studio. Plus last Sunday I got a 225 on bowling. And I will be seeing Holly for dinner at her house. And that was my week of the 26th-30th of September.

Computer class is one of the highlights of Lauries week.

I like computer class because it's cool with '' cool'' Jacob. His nickname is cool because he show's me so many cool things on the computer and he's a pretty nice person. He show's me a lot of different ideas also to do on the computer. Like these blog posts, we get to come up with different stories and it's pretty cool that we do that. These blog posts are interesting things to read because they tell stories about the students and what they like to do at cobblestone. Computers is one of my favorite classes because we do a lot of interesting things.

Veronica enjoys dancing and singing to a assortment of music in music class

I like dancing to my spanish and reggaeton CD in music class. I like to do spanish singing. I do my spanish singing in music class. Nate says I can dance to my spanish CD's. He is a good time. I also dance to Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, and Janet Jackson in music class. Music class is a good time

JoJo get's great physical and emotional benefit's from coming to the cobblestone

The staff helps me do exercises to feel better, to keep me moving, to keep flexible. If I don't do this I won't be able to do everyday tasks, like getting out of bed. Being here builds up my self esteem. It makes me feel like I could do anything. I try different things, the staff show's me different things and I try it. It makes me want to get up in the morning. If I didn't have cobblestone I'd prolly sit in my apartment by myself watching tv.

The cobblestone teaches Deepesh the neccasary skills to obtain employment

I like coming to computers because it's good to learn skills. It helps me focus on my business like checking my emails and if they are spam I delete them. I focused my business and did my resume at eastview mall because if you want a job you need a resume, if not they won't take you. I'm looking for a office job, something real close to my house, stapling stuff and computers. The cobblestone helps me how to get a job in the community.

Music and art class allow Chrissy to express herself using dance and drawing

Nate let's me dance in class. I like to dance in class. Nate's singing while we dance. I'm a good dancer. Art class is my favorite. We color, I paint and draw. I like to draw Seuss in art class. I like to draw the cat in the hat because it's fun. I like the cobblestone because I like to dance.

Brendan is having a great day

I am having a fun time here today. I like it here, it is fun. I like the classes, its fun going to 5 classes in one day. I really like computers. It was fun to do some cartooning and do some fun things together as a group. I enjoy life. I am having a great day because I am helping out with peers and I love the people here. When I get home I am getting a haircut. Haircuts are easily fun when you are having a nice day. I feel like I'm happy because I enjoy coming here.

Stacy loves her creative arts classes

I like music class and dancing. I like singing with the music and hearing my voice. I like drawing pictures and how you make it on the computer. I like to paint pictures on the cardboard and hanging them up on the wall where everybody could see it. I like to read a book about Dr Seuss and draw pictures of Dr Seuss in art class. We do animal sounds in music class, like the owl, the snake, the lion, and the bird. Nate gives us animal sounds to do. I would like to come to the cobblestone everyday of the week.

Mary Beth is traveling to Massachuetts this weekend to meet her long lost relative.

I'm going to Massachusetts to meet my long lost relative. My mom was adopted and she is trying to find her relatives. 2 of the long lost relatives live in Canandaigua. When my grandmother passed away she found out she was adopted. She found out she had a twin sister in Rochester. We are going to Massachusetts Sunday to wish my mom's aunt a happy birthday. She is 100 years old and I didn't meet her yet. We haven't met her father yet but we know he is Italian. I'm looking forward to seeing my long lost aunt.

After enduring struggles early in life a student found their way at the cobblestone.

When I joined cobblestone arts center in 2008, I immediately felt welcome and accepted by everybody. When i was a teenager I was diagnosed with asperger's syndrome (high functuntioning autism) and sometimes i was lonely and wondered why i seemed different from everyone else. I am glad to have found cobblestone arts center because staff are polite and friendly to me. I enjoy taking classes as well as field trips such as mall walking, senior living communities, and many others. I have met fun and nice people here too. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys or interested in the arts.

The cobblestone is a positive factor in Erin's life.

In the past with my old job, I was doing bad habits and when I came to the cobblestone a light bulb came on and changed my life. My attitude changed, I'm not so depressed anymore, I don't lock myself in my room anymore, I talk to my mom now. It changed my whole life and I'm happy now.

While on vacation Deepesh missed his fellow students and staff at the cobblestone

I went on vacation, came back yesterday. I missed everybody at the cobblestone. I missed exercise, I missed art class. I'm glad to be back because I missed music class. I missed eating lunch with everybody. Its great to be back and going to the cobblestone.

Jamel uses computer class to hone his announcing skills.

I think that I'll be good at doing a newscast just like I do at the center. I'd be good at it because I can announce pretty well. In computer class I've been practicing my skills. To practice my skills I go on to youtube and sign in. Then I check out my videos to see which videos interest me. Then I select a video and I can try to recite it. I've been my practicing really good and that's one of my goals I like to work on.

Tracie likes stretching class because it keeps her active

I like being active. You stretch your legs and your arms and your waist in stretching class. Lori does our stretching, and does it with me. Lori has techniques that she shows us. They limber me up. It boosts my energy level. Overall exercise is good for you.

Holly has learned a lot from her music teacher Nate

Music is a gift. Some people like classical, country, or modern music. I express myself very well through music. I write my own music at home. I can't read music so I hit one of the strings on the guitar and it vibrates and I keep strumming along. My music teacher Nate taught me a lot about rhythm and how to be cool. He is very talented. A lot like me.

Kara get's enjoyment from helping other's in her role as a staff assistant

I like music it's fun. I like having Gabby here. She is cool. I like her a lot. I like how Jake helps out with Gabby and the wheelchairs. It's fun learning all the new art projects we are doing. I love being a staff assistant. I think it's helping out the staff like you would your friends. You learn a lot about yourself. You get your own Wal-Mart gift card. I put the lunches away in the fridge. During dance class I help the sit down dancers. I set up the chairs in the studio. It's fun helping the staff.

A cobblestone student really feels the positivity at the cobbblestone

Cobblestone has been a great experience for me,personally. Since i started here in 2008 I have found myself surrounded by positive people and learning new things. I also enjoy the community outings we go on such as movies, mall walking, senior community performances, free concerts and lots more. We also do art, public speaking, dance and music. We also do performances based on different themes and we practice for weeks to prepare to put on the show. We take the dance steps and art projects and put them in the show.

Laurie has been coming to cobblestone for many years, and she's proud of it.

I want everybody to know I've been here 7 1/2 years and Jake the computer teacher told me about how many years I've been here because he used to be my bus driver. I've been a staff assistant for 7 1/2 years. I've been coming to cobblestone since 2004. I am pretty proud of myself for being here for a long time. And I will keep on going here for a long time because I love it so much.

Carol appreciates the cobblestone staff

Lori and Vanessa have 2 dogs and they bring them both to the cobblestone. Vanessa and Kimi and Lori takes walks with them. They are the best teachers, they take time to teach us dancing and singing. I take computer at cobblestone and Jake is a good teacher too. He takes time to teach people things. He is a good teacher. I spend time in music with Nate and he is an excellent teacher. And he writes music and plays instruments. He sings with other bands. I love to be at the cobblestone.

I feel relaxed at the cobblestone because everyone is so nice to me. I like all the staff. I love the performances. The fundraiser was awesome. I love music and I like to be creative in dance and art. I love it all.

Marcus values his time at the cobblestone

I am coming to cobblestone 2 days a week, I used to come to the cobblestone 5 days a week and I miss it. I like Nate because he does a really good job and he's one of my favorites. He makes me laugh because he's funny. Dance is one my favorites, they come up with good dances. Lori is a smart person and is always fun to be around. She is one of my favorites because she has always been there for me. She really did a lot to help me out.

I enjoy telling stories to everybody. I don't have a story everyday but sometimes I do. Sometimes I make up my stories. I share my stories in music. Nate does announcements and sometimes I start my story. I like music the best because my grandpa used to play piano and I used to take piano lessons.

What I enjoy most about the cobblestone is gaining experience and I enjoy singing a lot. I enjoy doing art. I enjoy doing music. And I enjoy doing exercise. I have grilled chicken and sausage gumbo for lunch. I enjoy the food my grandma makes. She gives me a lot of food because I need to keep healthy.

Matt's active role in assisting fellow students makes him happy

I enjoy helping people. I assist people to get them to class. I assist sit down dancers. I assist teachers when they need me to. I help get the instruments out in music class. I feel happy when I assist people.

I like the cobblestone bus. The bus brings me home. The bus is so nice. I like the air conditioning. I like Scott driving. Scott is a nice guy.

Rob talks about his involvement in cobblestone dance class

One day Kristin the dance teacher told me some moves. So I decided to practice by myself. Of the dance moves I was taught. I watch Americas Got Talent on TV. I studied on their dance moves. I asked Kristen if she would give me some suggestions on a dance team name. I thought I would ask Kristen on how to form a dance team. Dance teams don't start at the snap of a finger. It's not that easy. There's no magic show where you can form a dance team. As I am dancing in the dance room and ask young adults who want to join. If i sent out a flier, if I get permission from Lori maybe I can send out a flier. Sooner or later I will have a dance team and travel around the world. And Lori will be our manager.

Heidi loves rockstars and disco

I like to go up to the city with the cobblestone people. Because I am entertained. I listen to music like jazz and disco. Then we give Lori a message on what songs to do for our next performance shows. I also like to do exercise in the morning. I also like arts and crafts and do painting. I also like making macrame hats. And I like singing with crazy Nate.

I love all my friends at cobblestone. They are all really cool to hang out with. I love the teachers they are really cool and I love to do their classes. I love arts and crafts the most. I love sewing and making art projects. It makes the day go really fast.

I feel good about that. I will be moving out towards Webster towards my mom and them. I will be living with this other person that used to be in my house. She pays for the house and we have to pay extra if there is holes in the wall.

Erin is happy that she is moving but will miss the cobblestone

My mom and her boyfriend got a house in Cape Cod. It's not really our house until October and we won't be moving until the spring. I will be going to a new program there and will miss the cobblestone. I will come back and visit and they can come visit me too. After I get up there I will prolly get my own place.

I do computers at the cobblestone. Jake helps me to learn to sign on the computer. Nate helps me to sing and I also dance. I am a dancer and a singer. I would like to become a singer in the future. I would like to have my own music. I have a lot of talent inside of me. Cobblestone staff will teach me a lot more to become famous in the future. To write music and read notes. I've been reciting promo's for Newsfinal on CBC in computer class. I also did The Journal. Then I did one for news 8 first step 4. Then I did one for WISN News. I am able to tell people that that I can recite everything after hearing it one time. I am able to show the world that I can recite exciting news casts.

When I started going here I was at Abby's. And I was getting into fights there a lot. When I started coming here I was getting upset easily. And Gina helped me out with my mad and frustrations. Gina taught me to not get mad and talk to her about my problems.

How RJ became a singer

At first I practiced my skills like do, re, mi. Then I had to stay with the beat of the music. Then I started singing at the cobblestone. I love singing and you could never stop me. Because my dream is to become a famous singer and travel around the world. I can sing different music at the cobblestone I've never heard before. For instance, I never heard of Randy Travis until Nate taught me how the song goes. When I feel like I can't do it. Nate always has confidence in my that I can do it. Nate never gave up on me. Before I become a singer cobblestone will whip me into shape. Then I will show the whole world what a great singer I am. Thank you cobblestone and every body that had faith in me.

Drew likes his newest art project

The new art project is really fun. We cut paper flowers and then pasted them on a piece of paper and then trace it on a piece of glass and then paint it. It was fun doing different flowers and looking up different kinds of flowers. I'm looking forward to showing it at the show.

My teacher makes music fun. He sings and does goofy dances. I like it when Nate drum's and does a beat. I like it when it get's loud and noisy. I like doing announcement's.
